How to immigrate to Yukon in 2023

Yukon Provincial Nominee Program
Immigrants who wish to move to Yukon may do so through the Yukon Provincial Nominee Program (Yukon PNP).
Because Yukon has so many opportunities and job roles that need to be filled, various streams were introduced to the Yukon PNP under which an individual may use to apply for immigration.

Yukon Express Entry
If you are an eligible candidate who intends to move to Yukon through Express Entry in order to live or work in the province, you may apply to the Yukon Express Entry stream (YEE). In order to deal with the lack of skilled workers in the province, Yukon introduced an Express Entry stream to its existing immigration programs.
Express Entry looks to welcome over 1.2 million new people to Canada through one of its three major federal programs, namely:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP);
- Federal Trades Worker Program (FTWP); and
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
This stream allows the province to nominate people who are in the Express Entry pool that have the necessary skills and work experience that the province so desperately needs. This stream also takes into account a candidate’s language ability and adaptability, making sure that the candidate will be able to successfully integrate themselves into the community and workplace.

Business Nominee Program
If you’re a driven entrepreneur trying to figure out how to immigrate to Yukon for new opportunities, then the Business Nominee Program could just be what you’re looking for. However, before you pack your bags, you’ll need to make sure that both you and the business you intend to start meet a list of extensive requirements.

Yukon Community Pilot
In order to apply under the YPNP, a participant must work in an occupation for at least 30 hours a week as a requirement. The Canadian government tries to make this easier for participants as they allow them to work multiple jobs in order to meet this target. The job must be for continuous, non-seasonal, work in one of the following participating communities:
- Whitehorse
- Watson Lake
- Dawson City
- Haines Junction
- Carmacks
- Carcross
Skilled Worker Program and the Critical Impact Worker Program
If you have a job offer and the position falls under one of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 0, A or B categories, you are eligible to apply for permanent residency through the Skilled Worker stream.
