Having a baby on the way is one of the most exciting feelings in the world! Knowing that you’re about to usher in a new life into the world is a remarkable feeling. It brings a sense of pride and responsibility to the parents.
It’s a time where emotions are high. So much to feel all at once. So much love and joy doe the parents! It’s about the time, their new baby is on the way. The joy! Alongside these feelings are the sense of being overwhelmed. So much to do. So much to put in place. Lots of t’s to cross. The list is endless. Chief among the reason parents get overwhelmed is their New Born Baby Shopping List. That is, the items to buy.
Knowing what and what to buy is so much to handle. This is even worse for the parents when they decide to wait till birth before knowing the sex of their baby. The pressure can be so real.
Have I got enough of this and that? Have I got too much? So many essentials to not forget. So many! We see all these and we’ve come up with a list, a new born baby shopping list which includes the items to buy.
This list we’re providing you contains the essentials for both the boy child and the girl child. This way you’re not stranded.
This way you would have covered enough grounds before thinking of getting more things as the months go by for your baby.

FOR FEEDING:
Lots of bibs
Burp cloths
Breast pump
Milk storage containers
Nursing pillow
Nursing bras (if buying before baby is born, buy one cup size larger than your pregnant bra size)
Breast pads (disposable or washable)
Lotion for sore nipples
FOR DIAPERING:
Several dozen (4 or 5) cloth or re-usable diapers
8 waterproof covers
Changing pad
Baby ointment or other barrier cream to prevent rash
Snaps, Velcro or safety pins to secure re-usable diapers
Disposable wipes or a couple dozen washcloths for cleaning your baby’s bottom
FOR CLOTHING:
8 undershirts or onesies (mix of short-sleeve and long-sleeve)
5 nightgowns
8 one-piece stretchy sleepers (go for ones with zippers)
5 pairs of pants
2 newborn hats
8 pairs of socks
2 pairs of scratch mittens, to keep your baby from scratching his face
2 cardigans or jackets
Laundry detergent for infants
4 outfits for dressing up (optional)
3 large cotton blankets
8 receiving blankets (they also make handy burp cloths)
FOR BATHING:
1 plastic infant tub (or use a large dishpan in the sink, or take baby in the bath with you)
12 washcloths, not used on baby’s bottom
Baby soap or cleanser
3 soft-hooded towels
